Questions
Does Wardcrest hold the money?
No. The QR code and link point at your own address, so the payment goes directly from the payer’s wallet to yours. Wardcrest never sees or touches funds, and nothing about the request is stored on our servers. Everything travels in the signed link.
How is the amount worked out?
We convert your price at the current market rate and round up to the nearest satoshi (or cent, for stablecoins) so the payer never sends too little. The rate is shown on the request page and held for the time you choose.
What happens after the rate lock expires?
The page still shows the request, but tells the payer the rate has expired and to ask you for a fresh one. Create a new request whenever you like. It takes seconds.
Can someone change the amount in the link?
The link is signed. If anyone edits the amount, address or currency, the page refuses to show it and warns the payer.
Which wallets understand the QR code?
Bitcoin requests use the BIP21 standard that virtually every Bitcoin wallet reads. ETH and stablecoin requests use EIP-681, supported by MetaMask, Rainbow, Coinbase Wallet and most mobile wallets. The address and amount are also shown for copying by hand.
