Send USDT to an address with no USDT A first USDT balance costs about twice the energy. | 130,285 | 345 bytes | 13.3735 TRX | $4.54 |
Energy costs 100 sun and bandwidth 1000 sun per byte (a sun is a millionth of a TRX). Every activated account gets 600 bytes of bandwidth free each day, enough for about two TRX transfers. Staking TRX for energy removes the energy cost; activating a new account costs 1.1 TRX.

Questions
What are energy and bandwidth?
Tron charges for two resources. Bandwidth pays for the size of a transaction; every activated account gets some free each day, enough for about two TRX transfers. Energy pays for running smart contracts, such as a USDT transfer. Without staked TRX, both are paid by burning TRX at the rates shown.
Why does sending USDT to a new address cost more?
The first USDT an address ever receives creates a new balance entry in the token contract, which takes about twice the energy of updating an existing one: 130,285 energy instead of 64,285, measured by simulating the transfer.
How do I pay less?
Stake (freeze) TRX to get energy and bandwidth each day instead of burning TRX, or rent energy from a provider. Sending to an address that already holds USDT is also cheaper.
