APR ↔ APY
APR is the simple yearly rate; APY includes the effect of restaking rewards.
| Restaked | 5% APR is APY | 5% APY is APR |
|---|---|---|
| Yearly | 5.000% | 5.000% |
| Monthly | 5.116% | 4.889% |
| Weekly | 5.125% | 4.881% |
| Daily | 5.127% | 4.879% |
For information only. Not financial advice. Real staking rewards change with network conditions, and staked coins can lose value, be locked for a period, or be slashed.
Questions
What is the difference between APR and APY?
APR is the simple yearly rate. APY is what you actually earn in a year when rewards are restaked and start earning too. 5% APR restaked daily is about 5.13% APY.
Why include commission?
Validators and staking platforms usually keep a share of the rewards, often 5–15%. The calculator takes it off every reward before restaking.
Are staking rewards guaranteed?
No. Rates move with how much of the network is staked, validators can go offline or be slashed, and the coin’s price can fall by more than the rewards.
